What makes the Hero’s limitations a bit more disconcerting is that the Hero5 Session — which was selling at the same price — is no longer available (it can still be found in retailers, but GoPro has removed it from its official products page). That camera offered many things not found in the new Hero, including ProTune and 4K resolution. The Hero5 Session was a good complement to the Hero5/Hero6 Black, offering advanced users a cheaper option for a second camera. That option no longer exists.

To get right to the point of my writing: I can't give you a definite answer. What I can definitely tell you right now is that we are to focus on the GoPro HERO4 and HERO3+'s (and I will touch base on a few HERO2 and original 3's as well), as it is the best technology and provides options for numerous consumers. With the recent announcement of the HERO4's especially, we'll tackle the main features of those to help you decide if that hefty price is worth it.

From standard bike mounts, to suction cup mounts, to aerial mounts for drones, you’ll be hard pressed to find an object a GoPro can’t be attached to by some means or another (a pair of zip-ties will even often get the job done, for a DIY approach). How do you attach GoPro accessories?


We suppose it was easier for GoPro to simply remove options from the menus rather than recode the software to take away the menus entirely, but it does make the Hero’s interface feel a bit like a rush job. It’s also just confusing, and initially led us to believe there was something wrong with our review unit or that it needed a firmware update. Imagine being handed a menu at a restaurant with a single item on it, and then your waiter asking if you needed some time to make a decision.

First of all, the camera itself is physically different from last year's version. Most notably, the Hero 8 now has the mounting fingers built in (meaning, the "pins" that slide into the top of a pole). This means you'll no longer need a "frame" mount to connect it to accessories. This also means easy access to the battery and memory card at all times. Another perk is that this reduces the total footprint of the camera when mounted.

You can't speak directly to them you have to request a call back which tells you within 2-5 mins your lucky if you get a call back the same day it's usually a day later. Would not recommend anyone buy from them . Customer service is nil, and when you do speak to someone they are like robots and think the situation is funny and laugh down the phone. Not happy. No product, no refund and an upset daughter missing her birthday presents. Doesn't look like it will be resolved before Xmas. Just wish I saw the reviews on them before purchasing online. I would have got the same deal at John Lewis or Currys.
GoPros can be used as standalone cameras, but thanks to a great mobile app, they also pair perfectly with Android and iOS devices, allowing you to add more functionality and versatility. Using built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, users gain full control over their GoPro camera and can even display a live feed of what’s being captured right on their mobile device.
14 days later I still hadn’t heard anything, still no money taken from my account and still no news on my camera. I contacted support again who said I should have contacted them BEFORE the 14 days were up so they could follow up on my order. I asked them to check their records as that is exactly what I did, on 6th December. For this mishap they shipped me a free handler (which by some miracle arrived 2 days later). Still no news on the camera but I was assured an escalation was placed on my case so I trusted the process.
