You can't speak directly to them you have to request a call back which tells you within 2-5 mins your lucky if you get a call back the same day it's usually a day later. Would not recommend anyone buy from them . Customer service is nil, and when you do speak to someone they are like robots and think the situation is funny and laugh down the phone. Not happy. No product, no refund and an upset daughter missing her birthday presents. Doesn't look like it will be resolved before Xmas. Just wish I saw the reviews on them before purchasing online. I would have got the same deal at John Lewis or Currys.

What comes with the GoPro 7?


I contacted support who said there was nothing they could do and the problem was with the courier. Well given that I’ve had no confirmation and no money taken from my account I’m assuming you haven’t got to the courier stage yet. They placed an escalation on my case but advised me support aren’t in charge of escalations and couldn’t tell me who was. They couldn’t advise me when I would hear back, when my camera would be delivered or if my camera would be here before Christmas and they are now closed for the weekend - fantastic.
If you read the terms of the trade up programme it states that the money will be “held” in your account while they review your trade in. They hadn’t charged me for anything so on the 6th December I contacted them just to see when the money would leave my account and concerned about meeting the Christmas delivery dates. I was told that as the terms state the new product will ship within 14 days there is nothing that can be done until then. I thought that was fair enough as they had a clear SLA.

What is the best action camera for the money?


To be fair to GoPro I placed by order on Friday afternoon and everything arrived courtesy of UPS Thursday afternoon. If I wanted to be fussy the order wasn't shipped until Tuesday afternoon (from Holland) and the website said 2-3 day delivery time but it's in the busy Christmas period, we've had Black Friday and so everything must be running at full capacity. Either way I'm satisfied that the camera came within an acceptable time frame.
To keep the internals of the camera free of water, GoPro has more greatly reinforced the battery, microSD and connection port covers compared to previous models to keep them sealed. A little effort is required to access the micro-HDMI and new USB Type-C charging port in particular, since you need to depress a fiddly release button on the side to open the catch before sliding it open.

Is GoPro good for photography?


You get many of the same shooting modes you'd find on a GoPro device, such as time-lapse photos and videos and slow motion footage at 1080p at 240 fps, and there's even a Drive mode so you can use it as a dash cam when plugged into your car, automatically turning on when you start your car and off when you stop it. It's not waterproof on its own, but a dive housing is included as well as several mounts, two batteries and a charger that simultaneously powers up both packs. It also has built-in Wi-Fi so you can connect to a smartphone and use an app to control the camera and transfer your shots for sharing.

Typically, this is the part where I would say something like "GoPro's only real competition is itself." Of course, there's the Sony Action Cam line, which has some dedicated followers but isn't quite as versatile as a GoPro, thanks to fewer mounts and the slim-but-tall form factor. There's now a new rival from DJI. I already thought the Hero 7 was a better overall camera than the Osmo Action, despite strong competition on the stabilization front (and that second, forward-facing "selfie" screen). The Hero 8 just makes that decision a little clearer.
Then there's LiveBurst, GoPro's twist on Google's Motion Photo, or Apple's Live Photo. Simply put, it starts taking photos and once you press the shutter it captures 1.5 seconds worth of images before and after you clicked. In this context "1.5 seconds" refers to the three-second video clip you'll be presented with (made up of 90 photos). You can view them as a clip or scrub through them to find the best photo, either in the app or on the camera.
I ordered an item on their website and paid through Paypal. Ten days later no product. I contacted them and they have no record of the order, despite payment being taken and an invoice number being recorded on the payment. Now they are questioning if I really placed the order - despite receiving a copy of the paypal email confirmation and the invoice number. GoPro plus membership means nothing - except they take €5 from you each month. I am happy with the GoPro max I bought in Dixons - but the company and their customer support is dreadful.

I'll admit, I wasn't expecting too much from HyperSmooth when the Hero 7 was revealed. GoPro already added stabilization in the Hero 5, and then an "improved" version of it in the Hero 6, so when it was repackaged in the Hero 7 it was easy to assume it was another incremental upgrade. I was wrong: It was truly impressive and made almost everything shot with it much much better.

From the lawsuit:The Ring system is Wi-Fi enabled, meaning that it will not work without internet connectivity. Once connected, however, any internet device can be seen by the on-line community, making it incumbent upon its manufacturer to design the device such that it can be properly secured for only intended use.Wifi enabled and Internet connected are two different things. Also the idea that 'any internet device can be seen by the on-line community' is like saying any car in a garage, could be driven by anyone with a license simply by virtue of it being a 'car'. Uhm, no. You need to get into the garage. People don't put their Ring devices on 'the internet'. They put them on their local networks, behind a router. Ring's problems are mainly that they don't force 2FA, allow more than one login to an account (HUGE issue) and allow continual failed logins without locking the account after a set number of attempts (Also HUGE issue, if not the WORST offense). But sadly the lawsuit barely mentions the latter two and instead focuses almost solely on the 2FA issue, which is where they are going to end up losing.Anyone can bring a suit up about ANYTHING and any lawyer will take it, because they usually don't do it on a pro bono basis so they get paid no matter what. But if you're going to sue Ring for negligence, at least hire a lawyer who knows what to sue them for. I'm not a fan of Ring, but these guys are barking up the wrong tree.
GoPro’s suite of portable apps is great, too. In the bit of downtime I had, I spent it transferring images and video to my phone and then knocking together an edit on Quik to share on social media. It made keeping people at home updated really easy (also known as #holidayspam). Updates including the new QuikStories are also great, and it’s pleasing to see GoPro’s continued support with improvements and fixes.
